About Ben Baab
During my career, I played a variety of roles in higher
education - from my first jobs teaching and managing computer
facilities to CIO-level leadership, planning, and policy
implementation. These duties have been enhanced by my
educational
background: Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the
University of
San Francisco, M.A. in Mathematics from UC Berkeley, and B.A.
in
Mathematics from San Francisco State University; plus years of
on-the-job and self-directed learning activities.
I retired from teaching in 2016. My instructional activities
included courses in
Research Methods, Statistics, and Educational Technology
courses at USF
and Argosy University. I continue to pursue consulting and
research interests. My current research activity includes the
use of
free, open-source software (FOSS) in schools and the
philosophy of
FOSS in general.
